WOW...it's done...after hours of work put into it, and hours of work taken from it, I think i can call it done :3
It all sparked with two things. 1: I had opened up my "Lilo and Stitch: collected Stories from the Film's Creators" again, that i had bought right when it came out. 2:  was also holding a contest, to do a piece based off one of their paintings.I saw Bobby's "Stitch" painting, and was immediately thinking, "oh my god, i have to do something like that." So i chose to do a Stitch drawing, but...where to start? One thing had recently popped into my mind, and thinking about Chris Sanders, and where he is now. After leaving Disney, I wonder what Chris might think about the current state of affairs with his creation, and how Stitch has grown. I know I myself eat up anything Stitch, but to whom or what am i giving respect? the creator? or the creation? I already know the answer to that, and I love both. So i thought about how i could best express it, I didn't think an illustration of Stitch would do that, granted, through the fury of the storm that's how Stitch ended up. But in reading the Lilo and Stitch book, i remember reading about how Stitch was originally a creature from the forest, alone because of his grotesque nature, with only the weather to keep him company. So i went with it... Without further delay, i present... STITCH! but not just any Stitch, this is the VERY FIRST Stitch. In reading the book again, reminding myself how Chris Sanders and his creation Stitch has pointed my life in a direction i never thought possible, I decided I wanted to draw something for him. A sort of "Thank You" in an "All things have to start somewhere..." sort of way <3 I rendered him a little bit differently, the image in the book that Chris had taken was a bit small, so it was hard to discern all the ins and outs of the character, but i winged it. here is the first concept of Stitch that Chris Sanders had done in 1985 [link] None the less, Thank You for holding the contest, inspiration came from your Stitch painting, [link]also, Thank You Chris Sanders,  , for so much more than you may ever knowdone in Sketchbook Pro, Photoshop CS3 Stitch © Disney Artwork © Chris "Ryoseth" P. |
